I set up my Consultancy and Executive Search business - Intrinsic Resource Ltd - in 2001, having just spent two exciting and challenging years as VP Operations / HR for an innovative Internet start up business.
Throughout my career a recurring factor has been my involvement with wide ranging technologies which despite my non technical background I have a capacity to understand both practically and commercially. I had also been a serial ‘risk taker’ choosing developing ventures over safe career choices. In the fast changing decade of the new millennium I saw an opportunity to set up a consultancy business that would use my talents to support fledgling organisations going through the critical phases of start-up and consolidation.
I provide services to organisations going through structural change, and since 2004 I have developed a specialisation in the area of technology transfer from Universities and Research Institutes. I support both the in house innovation development and technology transfer teams prior to spin out, and the spin out ventures themselves (both pre and post funding).
My services in this area include consultancy on the commercial viability of new ventures, business plan development, market research and analysis, and the business set up / funding management. In parallel with these services I have also developed a specialism in the recruitment of Chairman , CEO and Directors of Technology Transfer organisations, Spin Out companies and more mature organisations looking to widen the scope of their service offering – in particular in the Oil & Gas industry.
